2015 Acura TLX Buyer's Guide

Honda’s luxury brand Acura made its richly deserved reputation on fun to drive and luxuriously outfitted product with reasonable price tags. This philosophy is well reflected in the delightful 2015 Acura TLX. The small mid-sized entry-level luxury model delivers outstanding driving pleasure while it surrounds its occupants with cutting-edge comfort, convenience, and safety features. Spacious, and remarkably quiet when you need it to be, yet suitably raucous (in a wholly sophisticated fashion) when you want it to be, the Acura TLX does a brilliant job of combining luxury with sportiness in a tastefully understated package. If you’re looking for a car capable of providing a great deal of driving pleasure without attracting undue attention to you and/or itself, Acura’s TLX should be on your list.

What makes it move?

A choice of two sophisticated fuel-efficient engines is offered. The 206-horsepower, 2.4-liter inline four-cylinder makes 182 ft-lbs of torque. While this engine selection can only be had with front-wheel drive, its dual-clutch eight-speed automated manual transmission uses a torque converter for added smoothness. The transmission also features paddle shifters mounted on the steering wheel. The 3.5-liter V6 makes 290 horsepower and 267 ft-lbs of torque. This engine is paired with a nine-speed automatic transmission and front-wheel drive as standard equipment. All-wheel drive is an option.

Why buy the 2015 Acura TLX?

Regardless of engine choice, you’ll find the TLX an entertaining automobile. It’s also remarkably quiet. In fact, Acura’s engineering team fitted noise-cancelling technology to ensure this is the case. The Acura’s suspension system is calibrated to handle with prowess on twisty back roads, while delivering a comfortable ride in day-to-day driving situations. Further, you’ll find a plethora of cutting-edge safety technology offered with the TLX. This includes blind spot warning, lane keeping assist, smart cruise control, and forward collision warning with automatic braking. These factors, along with the Acura’s wealth of luxury accoutrements make the TLX a highly viable choice.  Then, of course, there is the strong reputation for reliability Acura models enjoy. For all of these reasons, the Acura TLX definitely deserves studied consideration.
