2015 Audi Q7 Buyer's Guide
Audi’s first crossover utility model, the Q7 is a proven commodity—having remained on the market relatively unchanged since it was introduced in 2007. The luxurious seven-passenger Audi delivers luxury car ride handling and driving characteristics (despite its full-size body), teamed with an exceptionally plush interior treatment and good cargo capacity. The high quality materials employed, as well as the obvious attention paid to its fit and finish, marks it as one of the nicest models in its category. Strongly biased toward outstanding performance on the street, the Audi, despite its all-wheel drive powertrain is best suited to family-oriented suburban duties like securely shuttling the kids and their appurtenant gear back and forth to their various activities while you enjoy the Audi Q7’s grand style.

What makes it move?
The base powerplant is a supercharged 3.0-liter V6 with 280 horsepower and 295 ft-lbs of torque. The performance tuned version of the engine makes 333 horsepower and 325 ft-lbs of torque. All-wheel drive and an eight-speed automatic transmission are standard equipment. The Q7 also offers diesel propulsion in the form of a 3.0-liter turbocharged V6 good for 240 horsepower and a stump-pulling 406 ft-lbs of torque. The eight-speed automatic and all-wheel drive are standard here too. Properly configured, Audi’s Q7 will tow some 6,000 pounds.
Why buy the 2015 Audi Q7?
If you’re looking for a roomy luxury SUV with good road manners, an outstanding array of standard features and a measure of exclusivity, Audi’s Q7 may well fill the bill. On the road, the Q7 drives more like an Audi A8 than it does a SUV. You’ll experience outstanding stability at speed, good cornering (for its size), and athletic responsiveness. If you go with the diesel, you’ll find outstanding torque delivery along with the fuel economy of a luxury sedan—rather than a full-size SUV. You’ll get three rows of seats (although the third row is best suited to children) and 72.5 cubic feet of cargo space with both rows of seats folded away. All in all, Audi’s Q7 SUV has a lot to recommend.
