2016 Audi S4 Buyer's Guide
Going into its seventh year of production, the current generation 2016 Audi S4 is aging quite gracefully. This is due in large part to the tastefully subtle styling of the brilliant sport sedan. When it comes to the styling of Audi’s compact super four-door, "understated" is the watchword. In fact, if it weren’t for the subtle S4 badges sprinkled here and there, you might find identifying the Audi S4 something of a difficult task. Basically, you’re looking for silver aluminum mirror housings, a gray grille, and a set of four exhaust tips demurely protruding from beneath the A4’s rear bumper. It's essentially a hot rod for adults, one with enough confidence in its capabilities to be quiet about them—until it’s time to go to work.

What makes it move?
Power for the Audi S4 comes from a 333-horsepower supercharged 3.0-liter V6 with 325 ft-lbs if torque. Naturally, Audi’s all-wheel drive quattro system is fitted. The Quattro system’s optional sport differential is capable of shifting output from side to side between the rear wheels to sharpen cornering. A six-speed manual transmission is standard, while a seven-speed automated manual transmission is offered as an option. Audi claims a zero to 60 of 4.9 seconds with the traditional manual transmission, and 4.5 seconds with the automated manual.
Why buy the 2016 Audi S4?
A sport sedan for grownups, Audi’s 2016 S4 brings all of the qualities most admired about the marque’s automobiles to the fore. Among Audi’s greatest strengths are its much-admired interior treatments. Here the S4 makes its strongest argument. The model’s form-fitting sport seats upholstered in fine leather, flat-bottomed steering wheel, and gray faced instruments add just the right touches to the already brilliant environment. Further, Audi’s penchant for extracting outsized performance potential from relatively small displacement engines means you get outstanding performance with reasonable fuel economy. And then of course there is the sheer and utter sophistication of the S4. A super fast car, with no need to trumpet its capabilities to everyone within visual range speaks volumes about the confidence and refinement of its owner.
