2015 Chevrolet Camaro Buyer's Guide
“A small vicious animal that eats Mustangs.” was the response an executive gave back in 1966, when asked by a member of the automotive press what a Camaro was. While there are a number of different stories surrounding the origin of the name, it is generally agreed two members of the Camaro’s development team found the word in a French/English dictionary; defined as friend, pal, or comrade. The Camaro has gone through many changes over the years, and was even out of production for a time, but it has always been designed to go. When the current generation of the car appeared in 2010, with styling harkening back to the original from the 1960’s, it still went—big time. And, we hope that never changes.

What makes it move?
Convertible Camaros offer three engine selections along with a choice of a six-speed manual or a six-speed automatic transmission. The Camaro Convertible’s 323-horsepower, 3.6-liter V6 is good for 278 ft-lbs of torque. The droptop Camaro SS gets a 426-horsepower, 6.2-liter V8, with 420 ft-lbs of torque with the manual; or 400 horsepower and 410 ft-lbs with the automatic. The ZLI’s supercharged 6.2 makes 580 horsepower and 556 ft-lbs of torque to become one of the most powerful convertibles offered. All Camaro models are rear-wheel drive.
Why buy the 2015 Chevrolet Camaro?
If you are someone appreciative of exceptional driving dynamics, powerful engines, and more than just a little bit of style, the Chevrolet Camaro Convertible may well hold considerable appeal for you. More than just fast, they are nicely equipped while offering a full array of safety features. What’s more the interior design, while decidedly on the sporty side, is also well executed and demonstrates considerable attention paid to fit and finish. Characterized by a nice blending of traditional touches with thoroughly contemporary features like a seven-inch touchscreen, the Camaro pleases both old and new fans alike. After its crash tests, NHTSA said the Camaro is a five star car. And, even better, for those to whom it matters, absolutely nothing else looks like a Camaro.
