2015 Chrysler Town & Country Buyer's Guide

The Chrysler Town & Country is the direct descendant of the original North American minivan, and the most luxurious van in the Fiat Chrysler lineup. With its standard leather seating, power sliding doors and liftgate, and Stow ‘n Go Seating and Storage System, even base models come well equipped. Though this model has been around a while and a redesign is expected for the 2017 model year, it is still one of the market’s best sellers, along with its Dodge Grand Caravan platform mate. With its extended wheelbase design, the rear of the Town & Country is designed to transport your whole clan safely or to carry an immense amount of cargo with its wide array of easily configured seating arrangements.

What makes it move?

The Town & Country is powered by Chrysler’s 3.6 liter Pentastar V6, which sends its 283 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque to the front wheels through a 6-speed AutoStick automatic transmission. The aluminum block engine is a dual overhead cam design with 24 valves and dual variable valve timing. Capable of running on E85 or 87 octane fuel, the van is rated at 17 mpg city and 25 highway, for a combined 20 mpg (12 city, 18 highway, and 14 mpg combined on E85).

Why buy the 2015 Chrysler Town & Country?

The Chrysler Town & Country isn’t going to win any awards for beauty, but children (and their parents) will love the available second and third row 9 inch video screens that come with the Blu-ray and DVD Entertainment System, while adults will appreciate the van’s practicality and the available Uconnect System with navigation and SiriusXM Travel Link. Parents will also appreciate the generally good crash test ratings, though like most minivans it falters in the small overlap crash test.

The base model of the Town & Country features most options that a minivan buyer would want, without the price tag of a high-end luxury sedan. Even when stepping up to models that include features such as the DVD Entertainment System pricing remains quite competitive for the segment.
