 Advice to buyer:

this car has many many options, make sure you get what you want (ie. floor mats)

 Detailed review:

Ok....The 2 year lease on my 05 Nissan Titan LE crew crab was up, so I decided NO MORE $40k vehicles that suck gas! Being a truck driver for a company that is Chrylsers No 1 truck load carrier, I decided to go back to a chrysler vehicle. For my job, I haul the wiring harnesses to the Belvidere assembly plant where the caliber, patriot, and compass are assembled. I initally went to look at and purchase a Nitro; but after driving it and an R/T AWD Caliber, I fell in love with the Caliber! This is a great little car that gets alot of looks! especially with the factory 18' chome wheels. I have just over 1k miles on it, and am averaging 28 mpg (which is better than the 10mpg my titan got) I personally never thought I would get another car, because I hate anything but 4wd in the midwestern snow. We had one good snow fall after I got the car, and the AWD handled exceptionally! Word of advice: there are so many options for these cars and you need to be very careful to make sure you get everything you want. My car was fully loaded with everything including leather interier, yet it didnt come with floor mats (mats are an option) I did get them as an add on for $35. I see alot of 'not so good' reviews on the caliber and I think it boils down to some people just want a BMW type driving experience for $20k or under which is not realistic or fair to this little gem! Fuel economy and high performance are not synonymus with eachother! If you want 'balls out' performance, wait til mid year for the SRT/4 version which will boast 300 mph. This in an innovtative little car that I am very happy I purchased. I will say the CVT transmission was awkward at first, but I am use to it now! You become so prone to hearing an engine rev higher in RPM to shift, and you dont get that with the CVT. And the top of the line stero ROCKS!
