Lack of lumbar support on the new 2006 model I've ordered |
Advice to buyer: |
Enjoy it, and don't be discouraged if you have an initial problem, LR will fix it. |
Detailed review: |
I rented an LR3 from Hertz, spent several days four-wheeling in the Rockies. Also quite a bit of time on the pavement, nice windy mountian highways in the front-range. I truly let it fly through the entire envelope - after all, this is a rental, they gotta take it back :)
One Word: Awesome! I do believe the LR3 is the best allround performing automobile I have ever driven. This thing has it all, and at a level nothing can compare with. Features galore - that actually work. Powerful, ton's of space everywhere, Jaguar smoothness, incredible handling on road, and mind boggling off. 8 air bags, super tight and strong chassis, 6-sp tranny with sport and manual modes. Low range 3:1 transfer, 2 lockers, 5 special off-road programs, air suspension with 4 heights, and oh my god 13 inches of wheel travel! ad infinitum. A superb Nav system, excellent stereo, blue-tooth cell with docking charger that actually fits the phone you already have! It truly bests my my 2005 Mercedes in every way, by an order of magnitude. How can this possibly be a Land Rover?
I'm warning you about the LR3's Siren song, drive one and you won't be able to stay away...
