Returning after a one-year hiatus, the Audi S4 rips into 2004, stuffed full of V8 muscle. This is a serious performance car, equipped with a 340-horsepower 4.2-liter V8 engine, all-wheel-drive, and room for four adults with a weekend bag for each stowed in the trunk. Power flows through a six-speed manual transmission, rushing the Audi S4 from rest to 60 mph in about 5.5 seconds. A Tiptronic automatic with an equal number of gears is also available.
