What's New for the 2004 Chrysler Sebring Convertible? A rental car favorite gets freshened up this year, with a new front fascia, revised grille, and new wheels appearing on the 2004 Chrysler Sebring Convertible. Steering wheel radio controls are now available, and two new interior color schemes debut with Limited models getting suede accents on the leather seats. Models equipped with the 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine and without the optional ABS get drum rear brakes for 2004; all others continue with a four-wheel-disc arrangement. Traction control is available when ABS is ordered, and a new BeltAlert system reminds occupants to buckle up. Two new exterior colors debut. Mid-year, the LX nomenclature is dropped, the LXi changes to Touring, and the Limited model continues. Advantages of the 2004 Chrysler Sebring Convertible:
- Power operated top quickly opens and closes
- Glass rear window with defroster makes this a four-seasons car
- One of a handful of convertibles that can hold four adults comfortably
Objections to the 2004 Chrysler Sebring Convertible: - Rental car stigma
- Lacks refinement
- Not as handsome as the 1996 original
Editor's Advice: Because this cruiser (definitely not a bruiser) is one of the most popular convertibles ever sold and lacks competition in its price class, the 2004 Chrysler Sebring Convertible makes plenty of sense if you find a need to own a ragtop with room for four adults.
