What's New for the 2004 Kia Sedona? The 2004 Kia Sedona is updated with new wheel designs, a new grille, and an optional DVD entertainment system. The entry-level LX model also receives a standard center tray between the front seats for 2004.
Advantages of the 2004 Kia Sedona:
- Five-star crash test ratings for frontal and side impact crashes
- Excellent powertrain warranty
- Low price combined with generous standard equipment
- Rear DVD entertainment system is optional even on the standard LX trim level
Objections to the 2004 Kia Sedona: - Underpowered engine
- Hefty curb weight
- Smaller inside than most minivans
- Lacks a fold-flat third-row seat
Editor's Advice: With a starting price of about $20,000, the 2004 Kia Sedona is a compelling choice in a segment littered with excellent product. Dynamically, like most Kias, the Sedona minivan is neither cutting edge nor innovative. It lacks the trick features that higher end competitors offer, such as side curtain airbags, a navigation system, a fold-flat third-row seat, slide-together second row seats, a conversation mirror, all-wheel-drive, stability control and other features. What the 2004 Kia Sedona does offer is solid value and top-notch crash test scores. The standard LX model comes equipped with just about everything a family could need, and for 2004 a DVD entertainment system is optional. The uplevel EX model includes luxury trimmings at a price that undercuts the most basic versions of other minivans. Plus, there’s a ten-year/100,000-mile powertrain warranty to consider. No, the 2004 Kia Sedona won’t win any minivan comparison tests, but it is a no-nonsense value.
