What's New for the 2004 Mitsubishi Diamante?
For 2004, Mitsubishi’s Diamante gets a minor makeover. The new fascia and grille echo the lines of other Mitsubishis, while the center console, including audio and climate controls, has been altered for improved ergonomics. The base level ES gets new interior fabric, while the LS and VR-X trim levels receive an improved Infinity sound system and a four-speed Sportronic manually interactive transmission.

Although the aged 2004 Mitsubishi Diamante serves as the Japanese company’s flagship model, most critics and consumers have relegated it to the has-been bin. Rarely mentioned as a competitor in any sedan segment and residing on the radar of few shoppers, the Mitsubishi Diamante is less popular than the similarly invisible Hyundai XG 350. That means that there are great deals out there for what is, essentially, a roomy and luxurious vehicle, especially if you can find a used one that’s been babied. In a couple of years we’ll see a brand new Diamante that shares a platform with the Galant and the Endeavor. If you can, wait.
