What's New for the 2004 Oldsmobile Silhouette?
Sport Red and Liquid Silver are two new colors for the 2004 Oldsmobile Silhouette. The crossbars for the luggage rack are now optional, and the "low oil" indicator has been removed from the gauge cluster. The fully loaded Premiere model remains, but the identifying badges are gone from the exterior.

Advantages of the 2004 Oldsmobile Silhouette:

  • Decent handling and performance for a minivan
  • Nicely equipped Premiere model
  • Available all-wheel-drive
  • Excellent warranty coverage
  • Great bargains available as Oldsmobile closes up shop at the end of the year

Objections to the 2004 Oldsmobile Silhouette:

  • Poor expected resale value
  • Narrower than most minivans
  • Lacks competitive edge against majority of today's minivans
  • Poor offset crash-test scores
  • Unrefined powertrain

Editor's Advice:
Handsome, even fun to drive, the 2004 Oldsmobile Silhouette is nonetheless an also-ran in the best-minivan sweepstakes. Its design dates to 1997, its powertrain is unrefined, its interior is narrower than the class standard and it earned mediocre crash test scores. While numerous standard and optional features are available for your family hauler, its cheap-feeling interior materials and Oldsmobile’s impending demise may temper your enthusiasm. Great deals and a free extended warranty could entice you, but we suggest you spend your hard-earned money on a more modern conveyance.
