What's New for the 2005 Aston Martin V12 Vanquish? An even faster and more capable version of the Aston Martin Vanquish is available this year. Called the V12 Vanquish S, it features a number of engine, suspension and styling improvements. The S version's 6.0-liter V12 makes 520 horsepower, 60 more than the regular Vanquish. The S also comes with revised suspension tuning for better high-speed handling, sharper steering response and more capable brakes. Visually, one can identify the S version by its more rounded front grille and front air splitter.
Advantages of the 2005 Aston Martin V12 Vanquish:
- Muscular styling
- Breathtaking performance
- Luxurious cabin
- Exclusivity
Objections to the 2005 Aston Martin V12 Vanquish: - Clutchless manual transmission isn't suited very well for everyday use
- Tight fit for taller drivers
- Similar driving experience can be obtained from the newer and less expensive Aston Martin DB9
Editor's Advice: Due to an asking price above $200,000 and a production run of just a few hundred cars a year, the Aston Martin V12 Vanquish is available only to a small selection of customers. Normal buying advice doesn't really apply but we can say that this year's S version is finally what the Vanquish should have been all along: a no-excuses vehicle that can match the best machinery coming out of Italy and Germany. Its top speed, which is in excess of 200 mph, makes this car the fastest-ever production Aston Martin. Though the regular V12 Vanquish will continue to be sold, it's undercut by the new DB9. In our opinion, the Vanquish S is the only version to have.
