What's New for the 2005 Dodge Neon?
For those who want the look of the Neon SRT-4 without the sport suspension or boomy exhaust, the 2005 Dodge Neon SXT may be optioned with an SRT Design package that includes a power bulge hood, a front fascia with fog lamps, dual exhaust outlets, and a rear spoiler. A new Kicker sound system is also available for the SXT, offered as a stand-alone option or as part of a mid-year Special Edition package that groups 16-inch alloy wheels and an in-dash six-disc CD changer with the high-end audio. A 120-amp alternator now powers the Neon's electronics, and Orange Blast Pearl and Mineral Gray are added to the color chart.

Advantages of the 2005 Dodge Neon:

  • Comfortable front seats
  • Ever-present rebates lower the price

Objections to the 2005 Dodge Neon:

  • Noise, vibration and harshness
  • Inexpensive interior materials
  • Rapid depreciation
  • Heavy and numb steering
  • Notchy shifter

Editor's Advice:
In many ways, the 2005 Dodge Neon is a better car today than it was when the current generation debuted six years ago. But compared to the vast majority of small sedans on the market today, the Dodge Neon has difficulty matching up in terms of refinement and drivability.
