What's New for the 2005 Ford E-Series Wagon? Only minimal changes are made to the 2005 Ford E-Series Wagon this year. A heavier-duty four-speed transmission is optional on E-150 models, while extended E-350 wagons receive a five-speed automatic. Electronic throttle control is now standard fare. The 5.4-liter Natural Gas V8 has been discontinued, along with the armrests for the third and fourth rows of seats. XL trim levels see the only improvements, with a new style of cloth upholstery.

However, the Ford offers nicer exterior styling than anything in its class, and is sized better than the Euro-influenced Dodge Sprinter for daily driving in North America. For personal use, the handsome E-Series Wagon, particularly in Chateau trim, deserves a look.
