Editor's Advice: General Motors fields the most modern full-size vans on the market in the 2005 GMC Savana and its near twin, the Chevrolet Express. Recently updated, and last redesigned for 1996, these workhorses feature powerful V8 engines and, on 15-passenger models, a standard stability control system. Plus, all-wheel-drive is available; a full-size van exclusive. Though the Dodge Sprinter (a rebadged European-market Mercedes-Benz commercial van) is a compelling alternative, we recommend the GMC Savana if a full-size van is what you need.
