What's New for the 2005 Mitsubishi Endeavor?
Responding to complaints that side-impact airbags were available only on higher trim levels, Mitsubishi installs the safety devices in every 2005 Endeavor as part of the standard equipment list. Plus, every Endeavor gets a free scheduled maintenance plan that covers the vehicle for three years and 45,000 miles. Endeavor XLS gets a new standard anti-theft system and an Appearance package that includes fender flares, rear mudguards, and an exhaust tip. Limited models can be equipped with the same Appearance package, but with a cargo tray and cargo net included. The Limited Outdoor package adds a trailer hitch to the Limited Appearance package. Liquid Silver is a new color for 2005.

Advantages of the 2005 Mitsubishi Endeavor:

  • Roomy and comfortable cabin
  • Excellent ride quality
  • Impressive handling
  • Genuine fun to drive
  • Standard side-impact airbags
  • Seven-year, 100,000-mile powertrain warranty
  • Free scheduled maintenance plan

Objections to the 2005 Mitsubishi Endeavor:

  • Prices rise rapidly with addition of equipment
  • Some interior parts look and feel inexpensive

Editor's Advice:
The crossover market continues to expand, and we like Mitsubishi's approach that combines dramatic styling flair with a roomy cabin. The 2005 Mitsubishi Endeavor is one of the most competitive vehicles that the company has launched in years. Based on the same platform that underpins the all-new Mitsubishi Galant sedan, the Endeavor looks like a truck and drives like a car, successfully duplicating the SUV recipe that most consumers seem to deem the tastiest. Boldly designed inside and out, it'll evoke a love-it-or-hate-it response, but no one can deny its functionality and easy-to-drive nature.
