What's New for the 2005 Pontiac Grand Am? We thought that 2004 was the last year for the Pontiac Grand Am. Instead, Pontiac decided to kill only the sedan but keep the sporty coupe around for another year. For 2005, the Pontiac Grand Am gets a Solid Value Appearance package that includes 16-inch aluminum wheels, satellite radio, leather upholstery and a rear spoiler. A couple of new colors also debut.
Advantages of the 2005 Pontiac Grand Am:
- Good performance from V6 models
- Comfortable front seats
- Great bargains available
Objections to the 2005 Pontiac Grand Am: - Poor resale value
- Coarse and loud engines
- Cabin design borders on grotesque
Editor's Advice: The 2005 Pontiac Grand Am is a better car than most believe, especially at the blowout clearance prices for which they are usually sold. The Grand Am is reasonably entertaining to drive, rather comfortable for two, sporty looking and a decent value with discounts applied. But don't be surprised if the car's worth is dramatically lower when it comes time to sell.
