Editor's Advice: We could have gone on and on with objections to the 2005 Pontiac Sunfire. Now in its eleventh year of production without significant updates, all of the Sunfire's competition leaves it choking in the dust – even the middling Saturn Ion Quad Coupe. We wouldn't take issue with its beer-goggles-but-still-ugly looks if it weren't for its obsolete mechanicals, poor crash safety records, sketchy reliability record and dire plummet in value on the used car market. We do not recommend this vehicle, or its cousin, the 2005 Chevrolet Cavalier.
