What's New for the 2005 Volkswagen Phaeton?
After a disappointing freshman sales year, the luxury Phaeton sedan receives a few changes that are not likely to greatly boost appeal among wealthy buyers. The Phaeton V8 model gets new standard 18-inch wheels (though the original 17-inch rims are a no-cost option), a standard 12-way power driver's seat, and can be decked out in optional Burr Walnut or Myrtle wood trim. Advanced front airbags are added to all Phaetons for 2005, and active cruise control will become standard in the middle of the model year. All models also receive a body color roof antenna and a new front grille. Limited production colors called Silver Atmosphere and Bolero Beige are also offered for 2005.
