I had originally planned to purchase a BMW 528i. But, when my 6-foot-tall husband and I went to test drive the Beemer, he could not fit his legs comfortably into the cramped floor space in front of the passenger seat. No sale! I went to test drive several other cars, the Volvo S80 being one. Having never driven a Volvo before, I was blown away by the styling, comfort and ride of the vehicle. The design of the dash and console is far superior to that on the 528i and doesn't take away much needed leg-room space from the front seat passengers. I am not much of a speed demon, so the power and pick-up of the 2.9 model engine was more than adequate for my needs. Also, for the quality and added safety features that come with the Volvo, the S80 2.9 model's price is a bargain. Definitely give this car careful consideration. I'm so glad I did! |
