Detailed review: |
I did a lot of research, took 3 years deciding, always longed for a Rav4 which a friend owns. I went in for a test drive, not intending to buy yet. Tried out new, used, AT, ST, 4wd and 2wd. Mileage and ride convinced me. I don't need 4wd, like driving a standard and wanted the best mileage, so I bought the 2wd 5-speed and love it. I get 31 mpg! My 2 very large dogs love the back area when the seats are folded up, don't need to remove them. My grand children fit nicely in the rear seats. The seat belts fit them well and I feel secure with the child locks. My elderly, short Mother can get in/out easier than my old car. I can see very well, and the dash is highly visible even in glaring sun. I like the sporty drive feel and can live with the lack of gusto on hills. I wish the visors had see-thru extensions to cover a lower portion of the windshield. Headrests lean forward too much for short people. The driver's seat belt buckle is really annoying. If it were 3-4' longer it would be easier to reach, buckle and more comfortable, and would allow the strap to stay centered across my chest. My son-in-law has a 2001 Rav4 and his tires cupped prematurely, requiring replacement after less than 1 year. I'm watching mine. |
