Front wheel drive on a muscle car? |

Fastest car for the money - by far. |
Detailed review: |
After driving a Ford v8 SHO for years, I was looking for a similar feel in a new car. The Impala SS goes way beyong where the Taurus SHO left-off. The Impala SS is faster, more powerful off the line, and feels much lighter on its feet. The steering is a little crazy, when you drive it hard and the ride remains a bit stiff (but is certainly needed to deal with the 303 horses). Nonetheless, I am impressed with the overall package and feel that this will be the leader in its class. The only real competition is the Hemi 300, but you pay way more for the same features. I would have liked just a bit more sport and muscle in the styling of the body. As with most Impalas, there will be many taxi cabs and police cars sharing the road with the SS, so I would have liked the SS to stand out a bit more. The bigger wheels and SS badges are not enough to set it apart. Otherwise a BIG winner for GM. |
