impala is nice at first but dont buy one because of gm's lack of skill in the cooling system. they use a coolent with dexcool in it and it corrodes the gasket on the intake manifold and lets coolent and water into your oil, a very expensive repair. gm should consider doing a recall on all 3.4 litre motors they have placed in the market or they will have some major lawsuits on there hands. the impala's handling is ok, still not what i expected. I was a very devoted chevrolet fanatic until i purchased this 2001 3.4 litre impala. I am disapointed in gm for their lack of customer service. Any forums i have gone on for 01 impala's, people have had the same problem in many of their 3.4 litre cars.
