Advice to buyer: |
If buying used vehicle, inspect closely for rust. Inquire about bodywork. |
Detailed review: |
We love the styling and performance of this vehicle. We agree with other raters that the the heating/cooling controls are not intuitive to use and are very slow to adjust. In comparison, the controls on other Nissan vehicles (X-trail, Infiniti G35) are far superior. Our major concern is rust appearing on a vehicle that is less than one year old. It was recalled for a defect in the tailgate trim that caused erosion through the underlying paint and rusting. However, we have noticed small rust points on many other spots, and it is less than a year old. Our relatives just bought a new X-trail and the chrome trim is also rusting. Not sure what is going on with Nissan's rustproofing process and I don't know if this is a widespread problem or if our Pathfinder is simply defective. I should also mention that the rusting is occuring despite purchasing the electronic rustproofing unit and paint treatments from the dealer. |
