Advice to buyer: |
Do not buy this car unless you can confirm electronic issues have been worked out. |
Detailed review: |
I have a 2004 Touareg (ignore title)The V-8 engine provides 310hp, plenty to get the Touareg moving quickly. Very smooth on the road and comfortable too. The air suspension can be adjusted for a firm, sporty ride or a softer, more luxurious ride. It really is a comfortable and fun to drive car. That's why it is too bad VW didn't work harder on the quality control. I have had numerous electronic problems, notably a cruise control that did not work the day of delivery (a bad omen, I guess), CD got stuck in the CD player, just recently installed third battery in two years, tires are too soft for the weight of the vehicle and wore out by 21,000 miles, xenon headlights had problems autoleveling, compass light goes on and off periodically, seat memory does not always work, etc, etc. I can't wait to get a new car. |
