I've owned my 2006 Impala for 2 months and it's been fantastic. The performance of the 3.9 liter engine is quite impressive - actually more than you need. The quality and performance have been flawless thus far. It's also incredibly quiet for such a modestly priced car. The car feels very tight and solid. The only negative is that the gas mileage around town is fairly low - only about 17 mpg if you do nothing but city driving. It improves greatly on the highway. I'd probably prefer the 3.5 liter for the better mileage, but it's hard to find them with the options you want. Most dealers seem to order the 3.5 in a stripped down version.
