NEW FOR 2002
The 2002 Firebird is a 2-door, 4-passenger sports coupe, or convertible, available in 5 trims, ranging from the Coupe to the Trans Am Convertible. The 2002 Firebird's closest competitors include the Acura RSX, the Honda Accord Coupe, and the Volvo C70. Upon introduction, the Coupe is equipped with a standard 3.8-liter, V6, 200-horsepower engine that achieves 19-mpg in the city and 31-mpg on the highway. A 5-speed manual transmission with overdrive is standard, and a 4-speed automatic transmission with overdrive is optional. The Trans Am Convertible is equipped with a standard 5.7-liter, V8, 310-horsepower engine that achieves 18-mpg in the city and 26-mpg on the highway. A 4-speed automatic transmission with overdrive is standard, and a 6-speed manual transmission with overdrive is optional. The 2002 Firebird is a carryover from 2001.
