The 2004 Chevrolet Truck Avalanche is a 4-door, up to 6-passenger full size pickup, available in 3 trims, ranging from the 1500 2WD to the 2500 4WD. The 2004 Chevrolet Truck Avalanche's competitors include the GMC Sierra 1500 Crew Cab 2WD and the GMC Sierra 1500 Extended Cab 2WD. Upon introduction, the 1500 2WD is equipped with a standard 5.3-liter, V8, 295-horsepower engine that achieves 15-mpg in the city and 20-mpg on the highway. The 2500 4WD is equipped with a standard 8.1-liter, V8, 320-horsepower engine. A 4-speed automatic transmission with overdrive is standard on both trims. The 2004 Chevrolet Truck Avalanche is a carryover from 2003.
