"It is a fantastic car. The Acadia is the best car I’ve owned in thirty years. As I was getting into it, a week ago, a fellow stopped me and complimented me on its looks. He said he liked it better than the Lexus. (And it’s $10-20,000 cheaper.)
It has plenty of interior space. A large driver would feel claustrophobic in a Volvo XC 90, but not here. With the multiple-adjusting steering wheel there is huge flexibility in terms of driver comfort. The seats are extremely comfortable making long drives easy on the back and butt. With the third or second row seats folded there is a ton of cargo room. Also there are plenty of storage areas.
It hugs the road nicely, even in wet weather, and we did not buy AWD. It take hills and curves well.
It is extremely well-built and very nice throughout. They used their heads for virtually every aspect of the car. It rides very nicely, more like a car than a SUV.
The controls, while not awe inspiring, are laid out well and are intuitive. They look beautiful at night.
The AC outlet means one can charge a laptop while on the way to the airport, without fiddling with various adaptor cords.
GM should be applauded—they did it right. It’s hard to drive it and not smile. We researched many different cars and are extremely pleased we bought the Acadia. It was a terrific decision."
