The 2006 Dodge Viper SRT-10 Coupe comes in at $83,995 including destination fees. That price is high compared to the more refined and technologically advanced Corvette Z06, which runs $65,800. That $18,000 difference would pay for a lot of Z06 upgrades. You could argue that the Viper motor makes more horsepower (10 more) and has more torque (60 lb.-ft. more) but the Corvette weighs in 320 pounds lighter. In our opinion, the difference in performance doesn’t justify the difference in cost, but the Viper’s definitely got more presence. It just comes down to what you are willing to pay for your toys and Dodge must figure there are enough buyers out there willing to spend the extra cash to drive a Viper.
