In the Mercedes-Benz C320 CDI, a new common-rail direct injection diesel engine makes 224 horsepower, while boasting a 376 lb.-ft. torque peak that runs flat between 1,600 rpm and 2,800 rpm. Matched to a seven-speed automatic transmission, the C320 CDI can accelerate from 0-60 mph in about 6.8 seconds. Planned for Europe, the C320 CDI could come to the U.S. at a later date, but for now the diesel stays on the other side of the Atlantic.
