Until the recent fuel crisis, Americans were consumed with the idea that bigger and more powerful is better. By redesigning the 2006 Toyota RAV4 to offer power and capacity close to that of the Toyota Highlander SUV, Toyota aimed to serve that mindset. But now the company sells two SUVs that are nearly the same size, which means the next Highlander is likely to grow larger as well.
