2015 Ford Fiesta Buyer's Guide

The Ford Fiesta Sedan is a four door supermini that first went on sale in our market in 2010 as a 2011 model. With seven standard airbags and a safety cage made from high-strength lightweight boron steel, the Fiesta is a small car with good crash test results, except in the small overlap front test, where it scored marginal. Trunk space is relatively large at 12.8 cubic feet. Fuel economy is excellent with either available engine, though its official ratings can be hard to achieve, especially with the 3-cylinder engine. The interior features soft-touch materials, and is a surprisingly comfortable place to sit (as long as you’re in one of the front two seats) considering its small size and low price point, though its standard equipment level is lower than that of some of its competitors.

The Ford Fiesta Hatchback is a five door supermini that first went on sale in our market in 2010 as a 2011 model. The Fiesta gets good crash test ratings, except in the small overlap front test, where it scored marginal. Cargo space is 14.9 cubic feet, or 25.4 cubic feet with the rear seats folded down, which is more than in the sedan, but less overall than some competitors. What makes it move?

The Fiesta’s standard engine is a naturally aspirated 1.6 liter 4-cylinder that makes 120 horsepower and 112 lb-ft of torque. Power is sent to the front wheels via your choice of a manual (with fuel economy of 28 mpg city, 36 highway, and 31 combined) or automatic (27 mpg city, 37 highway, 31 combined) transmission. An optional turbocharged 1.0 liter EcoBoost 3-cylinder is only available with a standard transmission. It generates 123 horsepower and 125 lb-ft of torque and raises fuel economy to 31 mpg city, 43 highway, and 36 combined.
