2016 Ford Focus Buyer's Guide

Among the domestic manufacturers, Ford has taken a decisive lead in alternatively fueled vehicles. Currently offering five models employing electric motors in their powertrains, the company is the innovator in this space. The 2016 Ford Focus Electric is a prime example. Based upon the gasoline-powered version of the Ford Focus hatchback, the Focus Electric shares many of the same attributes of the exceptionally popular model. This means all of the fun to drive well-rounded nature of the standard Focus directly translates to the electric Focus, with one significant advantage—the Focus Electric bypasses trips to the gas station. First shown at the 2009 Frankfurt Auto Show, Ford has sold the Focus Electric to regular customers since May of 2012 in several key markets around the United States.
