2016 Lexus GS Buyer's Guide

The 2016 Lexus GS is an upscale midsize sedan with seating for five. In the Lexus range, the GS sedan slots between the smaller ES and the larger LS. For 2016, Lexus has also brought back the option of the high performance  GS F. The Lexus GS tends to sell briskly in the competitive upscale sedan category, but the GS has suffered from low resale values in recent years. The redesigned 2016 GS is expected to bring some much-desired attention back to Lexus’ sedan lineup. The Lexus GS was last redesigned for the 2013 model year, although it enjoys some styling and equipment updates, an all-new drivetrain option, and a performance trim for 2016. Lexus will release the refreshed 2016 GS in late 2015.

Both models come with a new eight-speed automatic transmission and rear-wheel drive; the GS 350 offers an all-wheel drive option. There is also a Lexus GS F model that offers 467 horsepower from its 5.0-liter V-8.

Why buy the 2016 Lexus GS?

There are some really appealing choices to be made in the upscale midsize sedan segment, which has made the Lexus GS a tough sell in the past couple of years. However, the 2016 Lexus GS is right back where it should be. The styling is refreshed both inside and out. The exterior features crisper and more aggressive exterior lines, bi-LED headlights, new taillights, new wheel options, and a new front fascia design. The inside of the 2016 Lexus GS offers new wood and metal trim selections and updated leather colors. The infotainment system is updated and easier to use, and there are new standard and optional safety features. Lexus expects the GS 200t model to earn fuel economy of 22 mpg city, 33 mpg highway.
