2016 Lincoln MKC Buyer's Guide

Stylish, yet understated, the invitingly tasteful Lincoln MKC mid-size luxury crossover is generously loaded with luxurious standard features housed within an eye pleasing interior design (featuring a pushbutton transmission gear selector mounted up high on the center stack). What’s more, the Lincoln MKC is comfortable and quiet at speed on the highway and it reflects very well upon you when you arrive at your destination. For some reason, the Lincoln is largely overlooked by most, so you can also number exclusivity among the attributes of Lincoln’s lovely crossover SUV. Of course, this is a fiercely contested segment. Choices are both plentiful and formidable, still, given a fair shot, the Lincoln MKC more than holds its own, regardless of the competition.

What makes it move?

Power comes from a choice of two engines. The base model gets a 2.0-liter turbocharged inline four-cylinder rated at 240 horsepower and 270 ft-lbs of torque. This engine is delivered with a front-wheel drive powertrain configured with a six-speed automatic transmission. All-wheel drive can be had as an option. The upgrade is a 2.3-liter turbo inline four with 285 horsepower and 305 ft-lbs of torque. The six-speed transmission is fitted here as well, however all-wheel drive is your only choice with the 2.3. Fuel economy is rated at 23 mpg combined for the 2.0-liter with front-drive and 22 combined for all-wheel drive. The 2.3 is said to be capable of delivering 21 miles per gallon overall.

Why buy the 2016 Lincoln MKC?

Options include automated parallel parking, smart cruise control, lane departure warning, forward collision warning, a power liftgate with a foot sensor, an adjustable suspension system, and surround audio.
