2015 Nissan Juke Buyer's Guide
The 2015 Nissan Juke represents a more attention-getting aesthetic than the brand usually favors. The Juke is a compact crossover with a stout, yet athletic profile and performance to match. It’s designed to compete against (and stand out from) more traditional boxy compact crossovers, but it seems apparent that Nissan is also hoping to appeal to younger buyers who might be cross-shopping in the sporty coupe segment. The out-there styling, combined with plenty of standard features and desirable options, helps the polarizing Juke capture the attention of a buyer who doesn’t care about fitting into a strict category. The Juke was treated to a mild redesign for the 2015 model year, with subtle touches that made the car look slightly more aggressive.

What makes it move?
The 2015 Nissan Juke comes in five trim levels: S, SV, SL, Nismo, and Nismo RS. The first four have a turbocharged 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine that yields 188 horsepower and 177 lb-ft of torque. The Nismo RS tunes that engine, boosting horsepower to 215 and torque to 201 lb-ft. Most Juke models feature a continuously variable transmission, although either Nismo option can get a six-speed manual gearbox. However, the six-speed can’t be matched with the optional all-wheel drive.
Why buy the 2015 Nissan Juke?
The Nissan Juke is categorized as a compact crossover, but Nissan definitely hasn’t held firm to the standards of that segment. And as far as the 2015 Juke goes, that’s a good thing, because it’s free to bend the rules a little. This sporty small car packs in plenty of features that help the Juke stake its territory amongst the crossover market, but it also holds its own in the sport compact segment. It merges crossover functionality and practicality with hot hatch-like performance and aesthetics. Driving dynamics are very firm, bordering on stiff, and may appeal to the type of buyer who’d otherwise be behind the wheel of an entry-level sports car. Optional all-wheel drive adds to the Juke’s appeal and usefulness.
