2016 Audi S3 Buyer's Guide
When Audi replaces the “A” in the nomenclature of one of its models with the letter S, you can bet the change is suitably warranted. For example, in the case of the 2016 Audi S3, you’re looking at one of the best performance bargains in the sphere of luxury sedans. Essentially, everything good about the A3 is made even better with more performance potential. The compact speedster was an all-new offering for the 2015 model year, so it goes into 2016 with very few changes. New additions include a rearview camera, parking sensors as standard equipment. Red brake calipers are now available too. On the mechanical front, everything remains the same, and believe us when we tell you this is absolutely a very good thing.

What makes it move?
Power for the delightfully capable 2016 Audi S3 comes from a 292-horsepower turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine with 280 ft-lbs of torque. As is expected of a high performance Audi model, all four wheels are fed by a six-speed automated manual transmission. According to Audi’s estimates, the S3 is capable of accelerating from zero to 60 in 4.7 seconds. The model’s magnetic suspension system provides body roll free cornering, as well as adjustability between comfort and sport modes. The S3 also gets an upgraded braking system.
Why buy the 2016 Audi S3?
It’s been said there’s nothing wrong with any car that more power won’t fix. When you start with something as right as the 2016 Audi A3, and proceed to add more performance potential to the mix, you make a good thing even better. For example, the eye pleasing lines of the A3 are made all the more so with a subtle tail spoiler, aluminum rearview mirror housings, front and rear diffuser blades, and four exhaust tips peeking from beneath the S3’s rear bumper. While this might sound like a lot, it all blends together very tastefully, and with an air of considerable sophistication. With all of these elements, the S3 could have very easily come across looking boy racerish. Happily, the reality is quite the opposite.
