2016 Cadillac CTS Buyer's Guide
If any one vehicle could be said to personify the marque’s contemporary philosophy, the 2016 Cadillac CTS is the one. Since the time of its introduction as a four-door luxury sports sedan back in 2002, the Cadillac CTS has been one of the best all-around Cadillac models in the company’s stable. It remains the brand’s core offering. Previously offered in both coupe and wagon formats; for the 2016 model year, only the CTS Sedan is available. However, an all-new version of the fire-breathing CTS-V is bowing for the 2016 model year. With more performance potential than ever before, the new CTS-V houses one of the most powerful engines offered by any manufacturer—along with cutting edge driver’s aids and personal technology. There’s a new Sheriff in town.

The 2016 Cadillac CTS lineup offers four engines. The 272-horsepower 2.0-liter turbocharged four with 295 ft-lbs of torque is offered with a six-speed automatic and rear- or all-wheel drive. The 321-horsepower 3.6-liter V6 makes 275 ft-lbs of torque. With all-wheel drive it runs a six-speed automatic, with rear drive it gets an eight-speed automatic. Supercharging the 3.6 makes 420 horsepower and 430 ft-lbs of torque. CTS-V gets a 640-horsepower 6.2-liter supercharged V8 with 630 ft-lbs of torque. Both supercharged engines use the eight-speed and rear-drive.
