2016 Chrysler Town & Country Buyer's Guide
With an all-new 2017 model waiting just off stage, the 2016 Chrysler Town & Country rolls into the limelight basically unchanged. Credited with creating the contemporary minivan, Chrysler’s Town & Country is one of the two oldest continually produced nameplates in the modern minivan business. It’s also one of the stronger selling models in the field today. The current version of the Town & Country was introduced in 2008, so yes, its sell-by date is rapidly approaching. With that said, it still offers a number of innovations, as well as a broad palette of desirable features. Additionally, while its price point makes it one of the best values in the genre, the 2016 Chrysler Town & Country is also one of the most luxurious minivans.

What makes it move?
Power comes from a 3.6-liter V6 with 283 horsepower and 260 ft-lbs of torque. A six-speed automatic transmission routes the output of this engine to the Town & Country’s front wheels. The powerplant is fitted with a fuel economizer mode to help maximize its efficiency. Further, a set of premium, lower-rolling resistance tires, along with low-drag brake calipers and wheel bearings help improve Chrysler’s flagship minivan’s fuel efficiency. The Town & Country returns 17 MPG in the city, 25 on the highway and 20 overall.
Why buy the 2016 Chrysler Town & Country?
Few automotive conveyances ever devised can surpass the utility of the minivan as family transportation, and Chrysler’s Town & Country is one of the best thought-through minivans ever devised. This is partly because Chrysler’s management team had the prescience to put a mom in charge as the lead development engineer for this generation of its venerable family mover. Features such as Chrysler’s well renowned Stow ‘n Go second row seats which fold into the floor, along with power sliding doors on both sides, rear seat USB charging ports, and a DVD entertainment system with an HDMI input port, go a long way towards keeping the 2016 Chrysler Town & Country Van relevant in one of the most competitive genres of the family car segment.
