2016 Lexus LS Buyer's Guide
Since the model’s introduction back in 1989, the Lexus LS has always stood for exceptional luxury, outstanding build quality, pedantic attention to detail, and superlative smoothness. Few cars in its price range replicate the quiet, sophistication, and overall excellence of the 2016 Lexus LS 460. Further, the model offers a number of different configurations including rear-drive, all-wheel drive, and an extended wheelbase. There is also an F Sport version of the LS 460, giving the large sedan a newfound emphasis on performance and handling prowess—with bigger brakes, a limited-slip rear differential, and paddle shifters on the steering wheel.

What makes it move?
Power comes from a 4.6-liter V8 good for 386 horsepower and 367 ft-lbs of torque with an eight-speed automatic transmission and rear-wheel drive. If you opt for all-wheel-drive, engine output is revised to 360 horsepower and 347 ft-lbs of torque. The eight-speed comes with all-wheel drive too. Fuel economy with rear-wheel drive is rated at 16 miles per gallon in the city, 24 on the highway and 19 combined. With all-wheel drive, the numbers are 16-city, 23-highway, and 18 combined.
Why buy the 2016 Lexus LS?
If there exists a quieter, smoother, more opulent four-door mainstream sedan at this price point, it has yet to be marketed. And yet, Lexus has undertaken efforts to improve the model’s body rigidity and handling for the 2016 model year. Also for 2016, the Lexus LS 460 gets a revised multimedia system with menu shortcuts on the side of the screen to allow quick access to Audio, Navigation, Phone, and other functions—from any other function. It can also now display the map on the full width of the 12.3-inch touchscreen. Additionally, the 2016 Lexus LS 460 voice recognition system has been reworked to assist users more when clarification of a voice command is required. Run-flat summer tires have also been added to the options list.
