2016 Lexus LS Buyer's Guide

Arguably the most luxurious hybrid offering on the market today, the absolute top of the line Lexus model is unique in that it is also the only range topping luxury car offered exclusively with a hybrid powertrain. In other words, as the most luxurious Lexus model of all, the 2016 Lexus LS 600h L stands alone. Yes, other marques have hybrid powertrains for their flagships, but Lexus is the only one to apply the gasoline/electric powertrain specifically to the ultimate iteration of its flagship. As evidenced by the “L” in its nomenclature, the 2016 Lexus LS 600h L is also the long wheelbase version of the Lexus flagship, bringing with it more rear seat legroom in addition to the best Lexus knows how to do in terms of luxury appointments.

Why buy the 2016 Lexus LS?

If there exists a quieter, smoother, more opulent four-door mainstream sedan at this price point, it has yet to be marketed. While many decry its relatively meager fuel-efficiency increase over the standard Lexus LS, keep in mind the 600h L is also considerably more heavily equipped. For the 2016 model year, the Lexus LS 600h L gets menu shortcuts on the side of the screen to allow quick access to Audio, Navigation, Phone, etc. from any function in the multimedia interface system. It can also display the map on the full screen. Further, the voice recognition system has been reworked to help users when clarification of a voice command is required.
