2015 Scion FR-S Buyer's Guide
The 2015 Scion FR-S is a rear-wheel drive sports coupe that was developed thanks to a partnership between Subaru and Scion’s parent Toyota. Scion had planned for the FR-S to help the stagnating brand capture some new attention with its fresh looks and affordable entry price. Although the Scion FR-S did provide a jolt of energy when it was released in mid-2012, sales of the model have declined steadily and drastically ever since. The Scion FR-S that’s on sale right now hasn’t seen any significant updates since the model’s debut for 2013, which isn’t unusual for a recently introduced model, but hasn’t helped sales. Nevertheless, the 2015 FR-S ranks high amongst the competition in terms of reliability, safety, and affordability.

Under the hood of the FR-S is a 2.0-liter four-cylinder produces 200 horsepower and 151 lb-ft of torque. The Scion FR-S comes with a six-speed manual transmission, but a six-speed auto is also available, both of which are recognized for smooth, quick gear changes.
Why buy the 2015 Scion FR-S?
Shoppers who are looking for a fun and stylish small car at a good price would do well to look at the 2015 Scion FR-S. It is available in a single trim level, but the limited edition Monogram Series and Release Series models provide exclusive styling touches and other features. Despite a modestly powered engine (at least compared to some of the higher-priced competition) the 200 horsepower in the FR-S is more than capable of putting a grin on the driver’s face, thanks also to the car’s quick throttle response, great handling, and rear-wheel drive layout. The EPA has given the 2015 Scion FR-S fuel economy ratings of 25 mpg city and 34 mpg highway, which is good for its class.
