2016 Scion tC Buyer's Guide
The Scion tC is a sporty-looking compact two-door five-passenger coupe, though its emphasis lies more towards the practical than it does towards performance. The engine does the job, but nothing about the tC is particularly inspirational. Ride quality is good, but the interior materials are a bit of a let down. The tC will accomodate two adults in the rear fairly comfortably, but passenger space is tight, though the hatchback design makes for a good sized cargo area. The second generation tC was released as a 2011 model, facelifted in 2014, and then updated again this year. Safety features include Electronic Brake-force Distribution, Brake Assist, and Smart Stop Technology, and the tC is rated five stars overall by the NHTSA.
What's the difference between trims?

What makes it move?
All tCs are powered by a 2.5 liter 16-valve dual overhead cam 4-cylinder engine. Using dual variable valve timing and a 10.4:1 compression ratio, the powerplant generates 179 horsepower and 172 lb-ft of torque. Power is sent to the front wheels through either a 6-speed manual transmission or a 6-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters and Dynamic Rev Management. Fuel economy with either transmission is rated at 23 miles per gallon city, 31 highway, and 26 mpg combined.
Why buy the 2016 Scion tC?
Like the rest of the Scion lineup, the tC is only available in one trim level. Standard on the tC are a remote keyless entry system, a tilting and telescoping leather trimmed steering wheel with audio controls, cruise control, sport front bucket seats, an eco-driving indicator, a panoramic glass roof with power moonroof, and a Pioneer audio system with Bluetooth, an auxillary audio jack, and a USB port with iPod connectivity. Optional extras include a Bespoke Audio with Navigation system, fog lights, and TRD 19 inch alloy wheels, high performance brake kit, performance exhaust, front strut tie brace, lowering springs, and performance air intake. Also included is 2 years or 25,000 miles of Scion Service Boost, which includes normal factory recommended services, no-cost roadside assistance, and service reminders.
