The Silverado HD 2500 and 3500 carry over into 2026 with minimal changes.
While the standard Silverado positions itself in the pickup truck segment as an ideal work truck, the Silverado HD series expands on that offering by improving on the standard Silverado's capability, towing and performance. Like most modern pickup trucks, the Silverado HD models offer a fair amount of livability considering how capable they are as work vehicles. Both the 2500HD and the 3500HD models can be optioned to include significant interior convenience features as well as the latest safety equipment. In addition, Chevrolet has gone out of the way to add technology where these vehicles will need it: Towing. The Silverado HD offers up to fifteen unique camera views, including a 'transparent trailer' mode.
A 6.6L V8 engine is the standard engine for the Chevrolet HD Series. It produces 401 horsepower and 464 lb.-ft of torque sending power to the rear wheels via a 6-speed automatic transmission. The truck features 4X2 and 4X4 drivetrains, alongside a variety of other configurable features, such as Cab Size, Box Length and the choice of either a Single or Dual rear wheel configuration on the 3500 model. This configurability matched with the performance characteristics of the vehicle to ensure the Silverado HD series stands out in the packed Heavy Duty Truck segment. The HD series also offers an optional 6.6L V8 turbocharged diesel engine. It improves the powertrain from the standard option, producing 470 horsepower and 970 lb.-ft of torque, enough to tow up to 35,000 lbs. when properly configured. A 10-speed automatic transmission is paired as standard to the diesel engine. If owners order a four-wheel drive on their Silverado HD, the truck comes with an automatic two-speed transfer case, allowing for shorter gearing when traveling off road. The Chevrolet Silverado HD comes in two basic forms, the smaller 2500HD and the larger dual 3500HD, with the latter offering a larger payload and towing capacity. The entry Work Truck trim features matte black bumpers, 40-20-40 front seats allowing for a seating capacity of 6, rear leaf-spring suspension, disc brakes, auto on-off headlights with auto high-beam, daytime running lights, 17-inch silver steel wheels, vinyl seat trim, air conditioning, a 7-inch touchscreen multimedia center, cruise control, smartphone integration, USB outlets, a rearview camera, push button start and a tire-specific TPMS. The Custom trim, which is only available in the 2500 lineup, adds powered heated side mirrors with an integrated turn signal, 20-inch alloy wheels with all-terrain tires, cloth seat trim and satellite radio capabilities. The LT trim features an easy lift tailgate, chrome exterior accents, 17-inch alloy wheels with all-season tires, a 13.4-inch touchscreen multimedia center, a 12.3-inch instrument cluster, an exterior 120V AC outlet, keyless entry and leatherette seat trim. The LTZ trim builds off the previous features adding power folding side mirrors, a chrome grille, LED projector beam headlights, LED fog lights, driver seat memory, 18-inch alloy wheels with all-terrain tires, 8-way power adjustable front seats that are heated, leather seat trim, automatic dual-zone air conditioning, a leatherette wrapped heated steering wheel and rain sensing wipers. The Luxury trim of the lineup, the High Country, adds a polished tailpipe finisher, a powered tailgate, a spray-in bedliner, front bucket seats, 20-inch alloy wheels with all-terrain tires, heated rear seats, a 7-speaker Bose sound system, adaptive cruise control, an integrated garage door transmitter, a wireless device charger, a surround view camera, front and rear parking sensors, a blind spot warning, forward collision mitigation, a rear collision warning, pedestrian detection and a powered rear window. The ZR2 trim which Chevrolet promotes as the off-road focused editions of their vehicles, features most of the integrated tech available on the High Country, but adds off-road performance additions including a driver selectable rear locking differential, off-road suspension, hill-descent control, skid plates, an integrated tailgate step, 18-inch alloy wheels with Mud Terrain tires and a head-up display. Standard safety features on the vehicle include 6 airbags, an ABS system, cruise control, a rearview camera, lane departure warning, forward collision mitigation, front pedestrian detection and following distance alert. Optional features dependent on trim include front and rear parking sensors, a blind spot monitoring system and a rear collision warning.
