available all-wheel drive
class-leading cargo volume

Overview

Competing in a red-hot crossover market the Chevy Trailblazer looks to give GM a leg up in an increasingly popular segment. With little much to do with its forbearer and although sitting on a car-like frame the Trailblazer gets quite a bit correct. With a ton of storage capacity and a long standard feature list that includes dual phone connectivity, 7-inch touchscreen infotainment, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, torquey turbocharged engine choices and light off-road capabilities all for a low base price there is enough here to get excited about. However, with competitors like the Kia Soul, Hyundai Kona, Ford EcoSport and Jeep Renegade the Trailblazer has its work cut out for it.

Model Highlights

The Chevy Trailblazer is available in two engine choices, it's base 1.2 liter turbocharged 3-cylinder engine makes 137 horsepower and 162 lb. feet of torque. It exclusively comes paired with a CVT transmission and is available in front-wheel-drive format only. The beefier 1.3L engine making a heftier 155 horsepower and 174 lb. feet of torque. The all-wheel-drive model comes standard with a 9-speed automatic transmission. The Trailblazer is available in 4 distinct trim levels: LS, LT, ACTIV, and RS. Trailblazer has an impressive standard feature list that includes an 11-inch infotainment system, 3 selectable drive modes that include Normal, Snow, and Sport, power locks and windows, 17-inch wheels, Android Auto & Apple Carplay compatibility, remote keyless entry, 2 USB ports, 4G LTE hotspot capability, steering wheel mounted controls, and a host of standard advanced safety features. ACTIV trimmed Trailblazers add equipment better suited for rough roads including heavy duty suspension components, a dual exhaust setup, unique exterior styling and 17-inch wheels with Hankook Sport Terrain all-season tires that feature a more aggressive shoulder design over other tire models. Lastly the RS model features similar dual exhaust as the ACTIV, but adds 19-inch machined aluminum wheels with black inserts, leatherette seats with red accents, and a heated steering wheel wrapped in leather. Standard safety features include forward collision alert, automatic emergency braking, front pedestrian braking, intellibeam headlamps, lane keep assist with lane departure warning, rear vision camera, teen drive, and OnStar4. The Trailblazer also offers available adaptive cruise control, rear park assists, lane change alert with blind-spot monitoring, and rear cross traffic alert.
