Overview
The Toyota Grand Highlander is a three-row, SUV competing with vehicles such as the Honda Pilot, Ford Explorer, and Kia Telluride. The Toyota Grand Highlander is slightly more expensive than many of its rivals, but in return it offers a bit more comfort and the kind of legendary reliability that Toyota built its reputation on. The Grand Highlander also offers a combination of both power and fuel economy that its rivals can't match.
Model Highlights
The Grand Highlander is available in front-wheel and all-wheel drive as the XLE, and Limited trims while the all-wheel drive adds a Platinum trim. The Grand Highlander Hybrid front-wheel drive only has one trim the XLE while the all-wheel drive model has the Limited, Max Limited and Max Platinum trim. The Grand Highlander is powered by a 2.4L turbocharged 4-cylinder that produces 265 horsepower mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission. The Grand Highlander Hybrid is powered by a 2.5L 4-cylinder that produces 186 horsepower the addition of the electric motor ups that number to 245 horsepower. The Grand Highlander is loaded with standard features a rear spoiler, power liftgate, roof rails, heated side mirrors with integrated turn signals, LED headlights, 18-inch wheels, heated power front seats, automatic dual-zone climate control, an HD satellite radio, a 12.3-inch touchscreen, voice activated navigation, adaptive cruise control, a mobile hotspot, wireless device connectivity and charging, 7 USB ports, and push button start. The Platinum trim adds paddle shifters, a chrome tailpipe, power sunroof, power folding side mirrors, LED fog lights, 20-inch wheels, ventilated front seats, heated rear seats, leather upholstery, driver seat memory, ambient lighting, illuminated sill plates, an 11-speaker sound system, a 12.3-inch gauge cluster, head-up display, surround view cameras, front and rear parking sensors, and a heated leather steering wheel. Standard safety features include active lane departure, blind spot warning, forward collision mitigation with left turn assist, rear collision warning, front pedestrian detection, a driver attention alert, and a traffic sign information system.
