The RAV4 Plug-in Hybrid is all-new addition to the Toyota lineup for 2025.
The RAV4 aims to be the "Goldilocks" of crossovers; its big enough that it doesn't simply feel like a lifted compact car, but also small enough that its size never really gets in the way during everyday driving. It is short enough that it makes perfect sense in the city, but it isn't in any way simply pretending to be an SUV, when the need for off roading arises. Toyota has also made a serious push for fuel economy with this generation, by introducing a new plug-in hybrid model that joins the hybrid in RAV4 lineup. The RAV4 competes directly in the increasingly popular compact SUV segment, with rival vehicles such as the Ford Escape PHEV, Subaru Crosstrek PHEV, Hyundai Santa FE PHEV and the Kia Sorento PHEV.
The RAV4 Plug-in Hybrid is available in two all-wheel drive trims the SE and XSE powered by a 2.5L 4-cylinder engine that produces 177 horsepower the addition of the electric motors increases the output to 302 horsepower. The RAV4 PHEV has an all-electric range of 42 miles and a charging time of 2.5 hours using a 240-volt level 2 charger. The RAV4 Plug-in Hybrid is loaded with features such as a sport suspension, a rear spoiler, a power liftgate, heated side mirrors, LED headlamps, 18-inch wheels, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, heated front seats, automatic dual-zone climate control, an HD satellite radio, an 8-inch touchscreen, adaptive cruise control, a mobile hotspot, wireless device connectivity, 5 USB ports, and a leather steering wheel. The XSE trim adds paddle shifters, a power sunroof, LED front fog lights, 19-inch wheels, ambient lighting, an 11-speaker sound system, a 10.5-inch touchscreen, voice activate navigation, wireless device charging, and a 12.3-inch gauge cluster. Safety features across the lineup include active lane departure, blind spot warning, forward collision mitigation with left turn assist, rear collision warning, front pedestrian detection and a traffic sign information system.
