The iX is an all-electric sport activity vehicle that delivers the comfort and technology features BMW is known for. The BMW iX is new to the electric market competing against the Tesla Model X, the Mercedes-Benz EQC and the Audi e-tron. With its elegant styling, personalization of the interior and visionary technology the BMW iX is here to compete.
The iX is powered by two electric motors that provide a range of 288-324 miles on a single charge. The xDrive50 is capable of 516 horsepower, while the M60 increases that to 610 horsepower. BMW claims the iX can perform at a performance level with the ability to travel 0-60 mph in 4.4 seconds. Every BMW iX comes equipped with the new flexible fast charger, this portable device is compatible with any 120V or 240V outlet and delivers optimized charging for the iX. BMW claims that 10 minutes of charging time on a DC fast charger will yield 90 miles of driving distance. Exterior features on the iX xDrive50 include 20-inch alloy wheels, LED headlights, daytime running lights, heated power folding side mirrors, fixed panoramic moonroof with liquid crystals embedded allowing for an instantaneous shading effect when desired, power liftgate, and front kidney grille which doubles as an intelligence panel with sensor technology. Standard features include seating for 5, heated front seats, multi-zone climate control with separate rear controls, cruise control, navigation system, integrated garage door opener, HD satellite radio with 12-speakers, 14.9-inch touchscreen, wireless device charging, and 6 USB ports. The M60 adds sport suspension, adaptive headlamps, 21-inch wheels, 12-way ventilated massaging front seats, heated armrest, heated rear seats, premium sound system with 30-speakers, head-up display, surround view cameras, and heated sport steering wheel. The iDrive 8 operating system with cloud-based navigation monitors the charge levels and locates nearby charging stations, Apple CarPlay or Android Auto connectivity is standard, as well as BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant. Safety features include front and rear parking sensors, lane departure warning, active blind spot, forward and read collision mitigation, front pedestrian detection, driver attention alert, and traffic sign information system with speed limit assist.
